Washington Property Tax Exemption for Veterans with Disabilities — a TIERED REDUCTION (not a full exemption) on property taxes for the primary residence, based on income. Eligibility: VA service-connected rating of 80%+ OR receiving compensation at the 100% rate. Income limit applies (combined disposable household income), set by county — typically ~$40,000 (rural counties) up to ~$89,000 (King County) for 2025–2026; thresholds re-set every 3 years. CRITICAL: VA disability compensation and DIC are NOT counted toward the income test. The reduction tier (Threshold 1, 2, or 3) determines whether you get a frozen value, partial exemption, or fuller relief. Apply at the county assessor annually.
How to claim: Apply at county assessor with VA disability letter and income documentation; deadline varies by county (typically Jan–May).
