    Virginia Disabled Veteran Real Property Tax Exemption — full exemption from real property taxes on the veteran's principal residence (the dwelling and up to 1 acre). Eligibility: VA-rated 100% service-connected, permanent AND total disability, OR rated less than 100% but paid at the 100% rate due to Individual Unemployability AND rated permanent and total. Unremarried surviving spouse may continue the exemption if the veteran died on or after January 1, 2011. Apply through the local county/city Commissioner of the Revenue with a VA Summary of Benefits letter.
