    Indiana SIGNIFICANTLY revamped disabled veteran property tax relief in 2025 — converting the prior $24,960/$14,000 deduction into a tax credit on the final bill. As of 2026: veterans rated 100% service-connected disabled (or TDIU) receive a 100% credit on property taxes for their primary residence with NO home value cap (the prior $240,000 cap was removed). Veterans with at least 10% rating who served during wartime continue to qualify for the $24,960 deduction (assessed value cap $240,000 still applies to that program). Both surviving spouses qualify under specific conditions. File with the county auditor.

    Indiana CVO program provides up to 100% of tuition + mandatory fees at Indiana PUBLIC colleges/universities for biological/adopted (NOT step-)children of disabled veterans or Purple Heart recipients. Up to 124 semester credit-hours at the undergraduate resident rate over 8 academic years. Eligibility: veteran-parent listed Indiana as home of record at enlistment OR child resided in Indiana 5+ years before applying; child must apply before age 33. Funded by state appropriation — coverage percentage can be reduced if funds run short. Step-children NOT eligible.
